Good southwesterly winds predominate in the summer and day times highs can exceed 80 degrees - making for a pleasant sailing experience. Shelter behind an island on the Lake of the Woods - there's 14,600 to choose from. Stop in for supplies in many waterfront communities or get away from it all in the vastness of these bodies of water.
