Ready for an Adventure?

Northwest Ontario's Sunset Country is a wondrous land of 100,000 lakes, 60,000 square miles of boreal forest and a wilderness landscape with few rivals in North America. We have some of the greatest fishing Ontario has to offer for species like muskie, northern pike, walleye, smallmouth bass and lake trout. This is shield country, a truly remarkable region of Canada. A land where the majestic moose roams the forest and bald eagles soar overhead. In fact, it's about as close to heaven as you can get while your feet are still firmly planted on the ground.

Northwest Ontario's Sunset Country Travel Association represents 290 resorts, lodges, campgrounds, hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts so you know you'll be able to find the perfect place to stay. We also represent over 140 retail and service businesses ready to provide you with the goods and services you will need during your stay. When you are ready to find out more, we're here to help you get started on your dream vacation to Canada's wilderness backcountry.

Sunset Country is a place where life is different. This is where the haunting cry of the loon replaces the buzz of the city. Where the only ringing in your ears is from your buddy screaming he's got a trophy-sized fish on the end of his line. Think about it, a wilderness setting essentially unchanged from what it was three centuries ago. That's what you'll experience if you visit Northwest Ontario's Sunset Country!

Passport Information:

Information for Americans about Passport requirementsDriving: If you are traveling to Canada by automobile, you do not require a Passport in 2008.

Flying: If you are flying into Canada you must have a Passport.

Remember - June 2009: The U.S. Government is requiring all of its citizens to have a Passport to return to the United States from Canada. You can apply for your Passport at a U.S. Postal Service outlet. Don't get caught at the last minute. Applications can take as long as three months to process so we encourage all our American friends to get on this ASAP.
